Martin Health System is proud to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
Since 2004, Susan G. Komen South Florida has awarded over $1.5 million (WOW!!!) to Martin Health System to provide breast health services and cancer treatment to the residents of Martin & St. Lucie Counties.
These services include FREE screening mammograms, diagnostic services, biopsies and treatment for breast cancer to patients who qualify under the requirements of the Patient Care grant. Also through this grant we provide transportation assistance and genetic counseling services.
Our Breast Health Navigator Team - Mary Smith, RN, Oncology Certified Nurse, Carolyn Shore, RN, OCN, CBCN, Marisa Baskin, LCSW, Oncology Social Worker, and Stacey Marando, LCSW, help women cope with the anxiety of being diagnosed with cancer, provide information and resources, and financial assistance. This program is also funded partially through a grant from Susan G. Komen.
In the past 4 years, through the Komen Grant, we have provided 442 screening mammograms, 650 diagnostic tests & biopsies, and cancer treatment to 41 patients.
Please support Komen by joining our team in the Race for Cure, January 28, 2017.
